KNOW  MORE  ABOUT  US

Welcome,

Welcome to my practice and thank you for placing your confidence in me. I am a second generation dentist with a specialty in prosthodontics. My experience dates back to working as a ceramics and metals technician for my father while in college.  He was in practice for 50 years and his credo was that good doctors build lasting relationships with their patients and communities because of their reputations. I am proud to be a part of that legacy. One of the highlights of my resume is my watershed research published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry which studied cross contamination and its prevention in the dental office- a subject more relevant  today than ever before. Another highlight is my portfolio of patents many of which are related to tooth saving devices and procedures that are used to create beautiful and healthy smiles. Many of these inventions are used daily by dentists around the world. Some of these patents address making the diagnostic phase of implant dentistry more accurate for the dentist, more affordable to the patient and less time consuming. My complete list of patents can be found on the USPTO website using the author search.

Although any dentist could call themselves a cosmetic dentist, only prosthodontists are specialists with years of additional training after dental school. This takes place in an accredited university or hospital-based post-doctoral program. From small fillings to cosmetic makeovers and implant reconstructions; prosthodontics is the only dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association devoted to these services. In addition to the less complicated procedures, prosthodontists are experts in complete rehabilitations replacing all teeth into function. As a prosthodontist I work with other specialists such as periodontists, oral surgeons, orthodontists and endodontists to coordinate interdisciplinary treatment when needed. I also work with head and neck oncologists treating patients prior to and after chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

My office maintains the highest standards in safety and sterilization protocols. Our x-rays machines are digital including a state of the art Cone Beam CAT scan. These provide a vast decrease in radiation exposure compared to older analog machines. We also use the “no-radiation” Cari-Vu tooth scanner made by Dexis® Corporation. This device is able to detect areas of tooth decay with infra-red frequency light that is not visible using traditional x-ray or examination procedures.

My hygienists are experienced professionals certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. They are qualified to perform all periodontal dental hygiene procedures. I have full time hours and am reachable by cell phone in case of an emergency. I look forward to taking care of all your dental needs in the future.

Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Sicurelli Jr.
